Below are some relevant parts from our old discussions (through e-mail, before we had the Forum)

EVERYBODY!
STOP doing what you do and GO to your library to READ

Socolovsky M, Lodish HF, Daley GQ: Control of hematopoietic differentiation: lack of specificity in signaling by cytokine receptors. Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. USA, 95:6573-6575, June 1998.

Guys, I simply do not understand why somebody, but not us, explain the world what is selection vs instruction and what is stochastisity in biology. Jean-Jacques and Jim, your models are simply in Fig.2 there. Why are we silent?!!!

I am very upset.

This is a reply to an earlier mail from sergei concerning a paper in pnas about hematopoietic differentiation. I looked at it. Fig2 is from till's paper (1966 or 4?) nothing new there. This is probably one of the first paper I referenced as also propbably did Jim Michaelson. We are not unique. Maybe these people could be contacted and informed about hbg?
