It is my pleasure to introduce a new member, Dr. Richard Gordon from the University of Manitoba. Below is dr. Gordon's brief self-introduction.

I was attracted to your group because of the name, and was surprised to
find the following lacking from your reference list:

Chargaff, E. Heraclitean Fire, Sketches from a Life before Nature. New
York: The Rockefeller University Press; 1978.
I'm an embryologist who serendipitously stumbled across differentiation
waves in 1985, and found that they've taken me from embryology to evolution
and beyond. This odyssey is summarized in my forthcoming book:

Gordon, R. (1999). The Hierarchical Genome and Differentiation Waves: Novel
Unification of Development, Genetics and Evolution (publication planned for
April, 1999). Singapore: World Scientific and London: Imperial College
Press, 2 vols., about 1835p., 6943 references.

Works by a good proportion of the members of the Heraclitean Biology Group
are amongst the citations. Thus I'd like to join, to continue our dialogue.

I'm copying this to my colleagues in Cyberworm, a group that aims to
simulate the development, and perhaps behavior and evolution, of the
nematode, from the molecular level on up. We presently have two active
projects: In Vivo, a simulation of cytoskeleton; Operon Language, a
parallel computer language for genetic circuits.
