"I asked myself this question recently when I realized that if someone speaks in the name of science he cannot be contradicted."

Of course she/he CAN be contradicted, scientifically, on a scientific basis.

"Science is considered as absolute truth."

The term "truth" is not a scientific term and is not applicable to scientific subjects.

"A journalist can ask the US president the color of his mistress panties but he would not dare contradict a scientist."

Of course he can and should contradict a scientist if he rests his case on scientific grounds.

"In a democracy each instituion should have a counterpower. what is the counterpower of science ? JJ Kupiec "

The counterpower of "prevailing" science is a "clearer, more insight science"
